“The Motherland Calls” statue. It is a central part of the monument to the Heroes of Stalingrad Battle on Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd. The sculpture symbolizes the Motherland calling its sons to the battle against the enemy. Creating the monument started in 1959 and was ready in 1967. With a overall height of 85 meters, it was at that time the highest monument in the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>
