Franz Joseph I (1830 – † 1916), also archduke Franz Joseph Karl of Austria of the Habsburg-Lothringen house. He was emperor of Austria from December 2, 1848 until his death. With a reign of almost 68 years, he surpassed all the other regents of his dynasty. He was at the same time apostolic king of Hungary and king of Bohemia.
