Anatolian red deer. Protected since 1937, the large and prestigious subspecies of red deer can be found in the areas of Blacksea and Marmara Region, Middle Anatolia, the Tauras Mountains, Iran, as well as parts of Western Asia. They are living in mixed forests on an altitude between 800 1600 meters. They are known for their massive, wide antlers and can weigh 200 to 350 kg.
