Classical guitar. In the mid-19th century, the luthier Antonio de Torres (1817–1892) perfected the guitar in shape and dimensions, arrangement of the (fan-shaped) top rigging and mechanical details. The Torres guitar has remained the basis of every classical concert guitar to this day.
