Sun or Star of Vergina. This very ancient symbol was discovered in 1978 in Aigai (Vergina today) on the gold Larnax stored in a Macedonian royal tomb attributed to Philip II, father of Alexander the Great. It represents a sun or a star with 16 rays of which 4 represent the elements (Earth, Ocean, Fire and Air) and the 12 remaining the Gods and Goddesses of Olympus.
