Indo-Pacific nurse shark. It can be found in the Red Sea region, extending to South Africa, Australia, and the Society Islands (including Tokelau), and at depths between 1 and 40 meters. At birth, it measures approximately 40 cm in length and can reach sizes of up to 320 cm. The habitat of the Indo-Pacific nurse shark includes coral reefs, particularly lagoons, shallow reefs, channels, and reef slopes. The young often hide in shallow lagoons and reef crevices. The prey of this nocturnal hunter includes various invertebrates, such as sea urchins, lobsters, crabs, octopuses, and squid, as well as bony fish and sea snakes.
