Wat Benchamabophit. It is the newest of the great Buddhist temples of Bangkok. It was built in 1899 on the initiative of King Rama V on the site of an ancient sanctuary. The main building is made of white Carrara marble which explains its tourist name of “marble temple”. The ashes of King Rama V are left there.
