NASA Space Shuttle lifting off from Florida’s Kennedy Space Center (KSC). “Enterprise” was the first space shuttle orbiter that NASA built. It arrived at KSC on April 10, 1979. It was the first prototype used for test flights only and never went to space. The NASA Space Shuttle fleet, in operational service, consisted successively of Columbia, Challenger, Discovery, Atlantis, and Endeavour.
