Red deer. This is the largest wild mammal and the national animal of Ireland. The last remaining native red deer population lives in the southwest of the country. Other deer species, such as sika and fallow deer, also inhabit this area. Males typically measure between 1.8 and 2 meters in head-body length and weigh around 150 kg.
