Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, known as Lenin (April 10, 1870 – January 21, 1924). He is a communist revolutionary, political theorist and Russian statesman. Lenin’s seizure of power after the October 1917 revolution gave rise to Soviet Russia, the first communist regime in history, around which the USSR was later formed.
