The gaucho shepherd. This bronze statue made in 1929 by Emilio Jacinto Sarniguet represents a former shepherd, “Cuñao” Cabañas, riding a Creole horse. The gaucho designates in Argentina, Uruguay and southern Brazil, an emblematic herd keeper of the South American plains (the pampas).
