The Madalan. Built in steel and teak wood in 1928 in Italy, this luxury yacht was bought in 1946 by the shipowner “Cap Verde Packet Trade”. After being transformed into a freighter with passenger cabins, it made numerous transatlantic crossings between Cape Verde and the USA. Sold in 1955, it sank some time after being damaged on rocks near the port of Praia.
