Ankole-Watusi cow. It’s a breed of cattle native to Africa. They have huge, distinctive horns that can grow up to 1.8 m long. Their ability to survive on limited food and water has ensured them centuries of survival in Africa. It was probably introduced to Uganda between five and seven hundred years ago by nomadic pastoralists from more northerly parts of the continent. It is distributed in much of eastern and central Africa, particularly in Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Burundi and parts of Tanzania.
