Juraj Jánošík (1688-1713). Slovak robber leader and national hero of the Slovaks, he fought with the Kuruc from 1706 to 1708, then with the national army and then became head of a forest robber group in the northwest of the Hungarian Kingdom. In the spring of 1713, he was arrested southeast of Terchová, imprisoned and executed after a two-day trial.
