Spangled emperor, also green snapper. With an average length of 70 cm, this species is found in many regions from Eastern Africa until Japan and Australia. It inhabits both marine and brackish waters at depths of between 10 and 75 metres. In the United Arab Emirates, it is commonly called Shaari Kabir and is considered to be delicious. It’s also one of the major commercial fish of the Persian Gulf.
