American Rhea (Ñandu). Parent of the ostrich and the emu, it is the biggest bird of South America. The males can reach a weight of 30 kilos for a head height of 1.60 meters. They can not fly and live mainly in meadows with abundant vegetation. Its meat is consummed marginally.
