Pig-nosed turtle. Also known as the pitted-shelled turtle or Fly River turtle, this species of turtle is native to freshwater streams, lagoons and rivers of the northern Australia and southern New Guinea but is not completely aquatic. It can grow to about 70 cm carapace length, with a weight of over 20 kg. The carapace is typically grey or olive, with a leathery texture.
